Birdfy Feeder Rookie — Smart Bird Feeder with 1080p Slow-Motion Camera

Smart birdwatching without a premium feeder budget

Birdfy's Rookie uses a side-mounted camera to record birds feeding in a compact, 1.3-litre seed hopper. Published specifications include 1080p recording at 30fps, an optional 1280x960 high-frame-rate 60fps mode, portrait-friendly viewing, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, a 5200mAh rechargeable battery and IP66 weather protection. This is a sensible first smart feeder for people who want to see the birds that already visit their garden rather than buy a complicated camera system.

Why choose the Rookie instead of a more expensive Birdfy?

It prioritizes straightforward phone viewing and a small, easy-to-fill design. Compare the Birdfy Feeder 2 if you need different camera arrangements or a larger setup. The Rookie camera cannot identify birds that do not visit your local habitat; placement and bird-safe feeding matter more than advertised species counts.

What to check before buying

• Exact Amazon variant: SKU B0FVSJLXM3 is the green-and-beige Rookie model. Check whether the chosen seller bundle includes an optional solar panel or a paid Birdfy Plus plan. Promotional bundles change; do not assume accessories shown in manufacturer lifestyle photos are included.
• Network: ensure reliable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi where you hang the feeder. The camera is app-dependent and manufacturer instructions say local microSD replay is unavailable.
• Bird health and upkeep: regularly remove old seed, clean the feeder and place it where it does not expose wildlife to nearby predators.
• Battery and AI: rated endurance is usage-dependent; confirm current free AI services and subscription details for the exact seller and software version.
